25 Best US Cities to Visit Where to Travel in America eBook Eric Jackson

I was lucky as I was growing up in that my parents were big on taking a family vacation every summer to somewhere in the US. We traveled just about everywhere but the Northeast and saw lots of national parks, monuments, and landmarks. I don't know how they knew where to go or what to see, but if they had had something like Jackson's travel guide on the best US cities, I'm sure it would have been much easier. Having been to nearly half of these cities at some point in my life, I was glad to see that Jackson pretty well hit the core personality of each city. For example, I lived in Austin, Texas for four years and know it to be just as described in this book: eclectic, weird, artsy, and full of entertainment and great food. He includes live links to resources outside the guide and provides guidance on what time of year is usually best to visit a particular city. If you are looking for a highly detailed, site-by-site guide to each of these cities, this won't be for you. If, on the other hand, you are trying to get a sense of where to go for vacation at some point by reading the general flavor and types of things to do/see, Jackson's guide will help you zero in on your destination.

25 Best US Cities to Visit Where to Travel in America eBook Eric Jackson Reviews

I have always been a complete travel addict, so when I found this little guide to the best cities in the US to travel to I bit almost immediately. The books has plenty of obvious cities you need to visit (New York, San Francisco, etc), but it also informs you about some of the often overlooked cities in the country. It covers the different things you need to see, when you should visit, and gives you a little history of each city. All in all, it is a pretty quick read but still manages to pack in quite a bit of info. Definitely worth checking out if you are unsure where to spend you next vacation.
The info was enough to figure out where and which places to go to. Well written and to the point.
Quick synopsis of some big US cities. Don't expect to be able to plan a whole trip to a city with this guide, but it would be a good way to decide which cities to go to.
I just got this for free today and skimmed over it. I live in the metropolitain area of one of these cities and was very disappointed that the author did not mention the wonderful state and national parks that are all less than two hours away. We also have several museums that are not located downtown.
Not enough in depth on things to do where to go etc. Very high level overview. If you are looking for broad suggestions its Ok.
lets you know which cities you might want to visit, and which ones you want to take the freeway around and forget about. I'm not a city person, so this might be better for those who are, but still interesting.
This is a very good guide to some of our nation's best cities to visit. We actually bought this book for my son to plan his summer road trip with his friends and it was VERY helpful to him. He has only been to about 5 of the cities in the book and wanted to plan a trip that would give him a good taste of Americana, nightlife and food culture (he loves to eat!). This book was perfect because it gave him a good sense of what each city has to offer so he could pick the ones that he most wanted to visit. Great book for planning your next trip (or trips)!
